Twitter

So i finally caved in and got a Twitter account. So many artists to follow :O looks interesting so far! Well it's something to do on train journeys too. Follow me @JenEasley87 for art updates etc!

Zazzle Store

I've opened a store on Zazzle as i had some interest in my last picture, so i thought why not? :)

Daughter of Mother Earth

Done for a challenge over at CGHub, i spent a lot longer on this than i normally would and i think it shows :) Woo shiny magical colours! :D

More colour practice

This one also ended up involving a lot of anatomy studying (althogh it doesn't show) and figuring out perspective...took way too long! Enjoying just using the default hard round brush too, lots of people recommend that and it does help keep things simpler, god knows i need it :D

Colour Practice

Very rough colours but i'm practicing from other people's palettes to try and learn :)

Studies

Some studies of myself and friends from some photos. Lots of crazy expressions :D

Just a couple of updates! Some sketches i did for a challenge on conceptart.org, and a sad faun :) off to do more studying now!

Horned Goldling

A creature Adam asked me to draw when we were in Blackpool, so i did. Reminds me a lot of all the stuff i used to draw, very dragony! Ignore stupid wing anatomy/other general anatomy, i only did this for fun ;) the only requirements were that it was horned, and gold, obviously :P

Ok, last edit...promise

Sky Fish take 2

Took another pass at this one too, trying to balance the values and also tone down that pink...

Towers take 2

Added more to the docking towers pic. hopefully fixed the values so it has more depth and obviously a foreground element now!

Ship Docking Towers

Finished off that pic i started last week. Much better now, and i prefer the colours to my last pic. Need to work on different compositions :P

Sky Fish

Been working on this for too long, can't tell if i like it anymore >< at least it's different for me and i saw it to the end though!

Space ship docking towers

Another landscape, this one is kinda flat but i got bored so i'll leave it as this for now. Trying harder but i still can't loosen up with these as much as i'd like, or get enough depth! Not epic enough and the cropping isn't right. I'm still learning with each pic so it's ok :)

Quick enviros

First new art in a while! Been doodling but nothing much, had no inspiration. Finally got back in to it last night with these quick thumbnails.

A creature concept i've been doodling recently. He's some sort of colourful strobing amphibian thingy :) I guess he uses the strobing as a display to mates, or a threat to enemies.

Saturday, 20 August 2011

Wanted to do a quick, bright colourful piece after all the studying recently. Kinda took way longer than i'd hoped cos i went on a bit of a pokemon binge for 3 days but nevermind :P overall it didn't take many hours.

Zombie

Spent the last couple of nights improving a zombie picture i did recently. Basically just had fun with it but as i'm a bit sick of looking at it now i'm calling it done :) Before and after, hopefully so you can see how flat it was before i fixed it up...Shrunk his arm too as he was kinda off balance.

Still Life #3

The onion again from the same angle with his friend Mr Peach :D tried a heavily backlit lighting set up this time. Not as tightly rendered as the last one but i think i learnt what i could :) Got a good idea for my next study, and it won't be fruit or veg!

Riots and an onion still life

Another still life, this time an onion. There was a carrot too but my housemate thought i was done with it and threw it away >< Lots of very saturated reds in this that surprised me. Hope i haven't over-saturated it. Might try a different lighting set up for my next one.

Started this Monday night but then the riots kicked off here in Birmingham so i got distracted. Left work early yesterday and it got worse so again i was mainly following the news and concentrating on what was going on rather than art. Not gone to work today for fear of not being able to get home so i've made myself finish this and hope to start another one later :)

And something to unwind before bed, just a quick drawing based on some clothes i bought recently :D

Wacom Pen Holder Life Study

Finally got back to some arting after a few days of being lazy and relaxing. Been a while since i've gone so long with doing anything digital :S still been drawing a lot on paper though during quiet moments at work...

So, today i decided to start getting down to some life studies. I tried to find the simplest object i could, which was my Wacom Intuos pen holder. It was a lot harder than i thought and i really had to wrestle this one. On the plus side it forced me to tidy up my art desk...

I've already started learning about light behaviour over various surface types just from this one study, so i shall definitely try and keep up the habit.

Landscape Thumbs

Some quick little landscape thumbs for tonight. Just trying to explore more saturated colours. Now for an early night ready for an early start tomorrow :)

Forest Trading

Very quick one for tonight, playing with bright colours and atmosphere. Had a busy day so not much artings

Rembrandt Master Study

A fairly quick study of Rembrandt's Portrait of an Old Man in Red. This took me roughly 1.5 hours. This is the actual size, I'm trying to avoid zooming in for detailing :)

Post-apocalyptic Mutant Ant House

Used the same alchemy shape for the ant as i did for the last ship picture :) These are fun!

Crashed Ship House

Used alchemy for the basic "ship" shape then went a bit crazy in photoshop...Something new for me, i like it :D The little guy by the ladder found the crashed ship and converted it into a house.

Had a lazy weekend as we've had our super awesome friend Adam staying over, so not much arting. Lots of awesomeness though :D I did manage to do some art here and there. My housemate Murph wants a wallpaper of Rinzler from Tron Legacy so i've been very slowly working up to that...Also some random environments and a zombie thingy. I need to get on with some proper environment practice soon!

Some golem/troll creatures. I didn't push the whole elemental thing as far as i could but i started these mainly for painting practice. I developed the snowy one a bit more later on. I think the earth one is my favourite though.

These are some quick thumbs i did for the Environment challenge over at CA again. The subject was the last tree on Earth. Never got round to finishing it but I'm pleased i even got this far. I'm starting to try and do more enviros recently, they are fun but challenging...

Hi :)

Welcome to my new blog! Hope you enjoy your visit. To start things off I'm posting a couple of recent-ish works. This one was an entry for the creature of the week challenge over at conceptart.org. He's a sort of stabby mouse thing. I need to add more detail next time but at least it came out pretty neat and tidy which is good for me :D
